What is EPDM roofing?
EPDM (which stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a highly durable synthetic rubber material that’s widely used as a roofing option in low-slope buildings, providing you with a cost-effective and long-lasting construction solution, one that’s quick and easy to install, keeping disruption and downtime to a minimum.

The material has become increasingly popular over the last few years, with more traditional roofing materials like felt falling out of favour as a result. How is EPDM rubber roofing installed?
It is possible to install EPDM rubber roofing yourself but if you want to be assured of quality, it’s a job best left to professional roofers.

It’s essential that the roof surface is clean, free of dust and debris, and completely dry in order to ensure optimal performance. Once the roof surface is prepared and the EPDM membrane relaxed (which will prevent wrinkling), the membrane can be trimmed and glued.

This can be difficult as membranes are often large and difficult to work with, but this is where the AJB Construction team really comes into its own.
